Tutorial
Application with the Single Sided method
The Single Sided method involves attaching one strand of Ultra Tape Extensions Seamless Tape 3 cm with a piece of Single Sided Refill Tape instead of using another Ultra Tape strand. This method can be used for a full hair extension if you have thin hair or feel that two Ultra Tape strands are too heavy. It can also be applied selectively in areas where your hair is thinner or where your extensions are more exposed.
Follow the steps below to gently attach a strand of Ultra Tape Extensions with Single Sided Refill Tape.
- Ensure that your own hair is clean and dry before applying Tape Extensions.
- Create a straight parting with a tail comb where you want to attach your Ultra Tape using the Single Sided method.
- Remove the protective paper from your Ultra Tape Extension and attach it in line with the parting, approximately 3–5 mm from the scalp. Press lightly with the tail comb.
- Use the tail comb to create a new parting below the Ultra Tape strand. Flip the strand up.
- Remove loose hairs from the strand and attach a piece of Single Sided Refill Tape to the back of your Ultra Tape strand. Make sure to attach the tape edge-to-edge with the strand’s attachment.
- Flip the hair back and remove air with pliers.
- Repeat for all areas where you wish to attach Ultra Tape using the Single Sided method.
It is also possible to attach Ultra Tape Extensions under your own hair and Single Sided Refill Tape on top. This is preferable, for example, near the hairline at the nape of the neck, as the underside of the hair is more exposed in updos. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Ensure that your own hair is clean and dry before applying Tape Extensions.
- Create a straight parting with a tail comb where you wish to attach your Ultra Tape using the Single Sided method.
- Take a thin section of hair with a tail comb. The section needs to be the same length as your Ultra Tape strand, i.e., 3 cm.
- Remove the protective paper from your Ultra Tape strand. Try not to touch the tape with your fingers.
- Wrap the extension hair around the tail comb and place it under your section, approximately 3–5 mm from the scalp.
- Fold your section over the tape and press gently with the tail comb.
- Attach a Single Sided Refill Tape on top of the section. Ensure the tape piece is aligned edge-to-edge with the attachment of the Ultra Tape strand.
- Remove air with pliers.
- Repeat in all areas where you wish to attach Ultra Tape using the Single Sided method.
Reapplication of the Single Sided method
Follow the steps below to gently remove and reapply your Ultra Tape Extensions using the Single Sided method.
- Pour a few drops of Hair Extensions Remover onto the Ultra Tape bond and let it sit for a few seconds.
- Gently separate the bond and tape piece with the tip of a tail comb.
- If the Ultra Tape strand is on top, remove it by gently pulling the bond. Never pull on the hair lengths. If the Single Sided Refill Tape is on top, remove it gently with your fingers.
- Pour a few more drops of remover onto the remaining bond (the bottom one) in your hair and let it sit for a few seconds.
- Gently remove the extensions or tape piece by pulling on the bond.
- Comb out any tape residue from your own hair.
- Remove the old tape from the extension bond with your fingers. If it is stuck, you can add a few more drops of Remover.
- Place a piece of refill tape onto the bond. Keep the protective paper on.
- Take out a section of hair at roughly the same place where the extensions were previously attached.
- Attach the hair using any of the application methods above.
